Lost In Beauty-
Monday
Hello!!
It's been quite some time since the last post and there's simply so much to write about! But the most interesting has got to be the trip to Bangkok. Shopping there was absolutely heavenly, what more could a girl ask for? I shan't go into the details of what can be found/bought there, go there and find out for yourself! (And ask me along ^^)
I've posted a few of the photos that we took in Bangkok, a few of the 200+ photos taken using Andrew's new Lumix camera. And hopefully there are no duplicates with those posted in PS and Violet's blogs. Though that isn't likely as Violet's camera is filled with pictures of Daryl and Andrew kept taking pictures of ......

Isn't the hotel spacious? We were all quite surprised at our large rooms cosidering the low rates we paid. Anyway, here's a pic of PS and me upon arrival in our hotel rooms.

It's the same room! Though JR and Andrew would be the ones sitting there at night having their room service supper... tsk tsk...
Anyway, room service is like S$4 per order!

Our first meal in a Thai restaurant in MBK shopping centre. The food was authentic local cuisine and too extreme for us - too salty, too spicy or too sweet. Needless to say, it was our last meal at the place.

This is like the posh area of Siam, with boutiques and 5-star hotels all clustered together. Even the toilets are 5-star too!

Is the Christmas tree nice? We didn't realise we were in Hyatt hotel until later on. Anyway, this area is useless for shopping... headed to Siam Square

One of the many "cameo" pictures which we took! We had dinner at Black Canyon Coffee and would return there for another 2 meals over the next few days!
It's PS's favourite food place too! Dun worry PS! There's a branch in Singapore!
(vio n D', dun mind the pic ok^^)

MBK centre - We went there every single day of our trip! This photo doesn't show how big it actually is. Let's say from Wisma to Cineleisure with seven floors of small shops selling everything at bargain prices! I still miss the place....

Dun be misled by the seemingly clear view! The air there is very dusty especially during the daytime. Very very dusty.

Happy twentieth birthday PS and JR !!

Chatuchak Market - it's the famous weekend market of Bangkok and a definite must-go! I would rate this as the best place to shop!

The hotel lobby.

Absolutely delicious!!! So good that PS, JR, Andrew and me all dabaoed it back to Singapore! Oh, and it only costs $3+ for this huge plate.

A taxi-driver drove us to this restaurant in Silom. It's somewhat secluded and I've no idea where it is located! But the food is pretty good.

All of us were certainly glad to be seated after the frantic shopping we did that day! It's crazy but thoroughly enjoyable :)

The prawns in Bangkok are HUGE !! One prawn can almost fill up a whole plate and they taste so yummy!!

Bangkok's Chinatown. There're quite a few good and value-for-money restaurants here. Try the shark's fin, bird's nest and prawns!

We're at the Grand Central Palace. Some tourist guide stated that slippers were forbidden but evidently they were not!

Vio and Daryl looking at the carvings on the roofs of the buildings.

Still no idea what is happening here.

The decorations and carvings on the walls and roofs are just so intricate and beautiful....

The 3 of us posing

Erm...

The 6 of us actually managed to squeeze into a taxi!
=> money saved for shopping :)

Finally we found someone to take a group photo of us!

JR, Andrew and I went to the top of the tallest building in Bangkok. This is one of the many "backgrounds" for tourist to take pictures in!

No pink tuk-tuks in Bangkok... but there are pink taxis though!

One of Andrew's and my favourite pictures!

Our free drinks at the lounge on the 83rd storey of the building!

Our daily breakfast consists of -
dou jiang you tiao

Andrew's breakfast

River cruise along the Chao Phraya River. This was so so fun!

Can you spot anything?

There are really numerous temples in Bangkok, and most of them are very pretty. Like this one! (If it's a temple)

Feeding the fishes in the river . They were practically flying in the air to reach the bread I was holding!

I've no idea what place this is but it's awe-inspiring. Can anyone help?

Finally, a visit to where else but MBK for some last-min shopping before flying back to Singapore.

See ya again Bangkok !
the beauty exposed ;
